6 things you’ll want to do in Chopta for a travel experience

 

Hill stations are the best places to watch nature and experience natural serenity. This is the case with all the hills and Chopta is no exception in Uttarakhand. It is beautiful snow-capped mountains, lush green wetlands, picturesque lakes, rocky waterfalls, and peaceful valleys. For anyone planning a journey there, Chopta trek is in store. It gives the inhabitants of the city a much-needed break in peace. Whether nature or an adventure junkie, chopta chandrashila trek has something for everyone with its unique wildlife, stunning paths, and campsites.

1. The Tungnath Trek – Beautiful Green Trail

 

It is located approximately 2700 meters above sea level in the Himalayan Range. This is an area surrounded by a high forest of trees as deodars, oaks, and rhododendrons for a spectacular journey. It’s about 3.5 km long on this trekking trail. Travelers can walk on a paved path to the 3680-meter-long summit of Tungnath. This is a very nice trail with just a few steep ascents or sharp turns.

 

The Tungnath peak is home to an old temple, which has existed for more than 1000 years and offers a fine view of the amazing Mandakini and Alaknanda valleys.

2. Baniyakund – Camp At The Meadows

 

Camping is considered one of Chopra’ best things to do, so it’s a must try! It is a long stretch of wetlands, situated 4 kilometers from Chopta, and is surrounded by a few villages around and within the Garhwal Himalayas with the best views possible. Usually it is a stop-over for the people on Chandrashila-Tungnath Trek.

 

It is also considered the perfect place to look at birds, especially the parakeets in the Baniyakund Wetlands in abundance. A few local shops make it a comfortable place to relax.

3. The Chandrashila Trek

It’s about five kilometers long throughout the Chopta – Tungnath – Chandrashila trail.

The highest peak in the Chopta region is Chandrashila. Its location at 4130 meters above ground level is therefore of strategic importance. The trail is steep, but it’s an easy way to explore otherwise. Trekkers can enjoy many activities and enjoy the glorious view of the Himalayas. The trekkers are also warm as witnessing the peaks of Kedarnath and Chaukhamba.

 

One such path is still well preserved and untouched by marketing. On the way, walkers will come across the diverse wild species in the region, including mountain goats and a multitude of birds, such as Fire – Tailed sunbird, Brown dipper and many more.

4. Kanchula Korak Musk Deer Sanctuary

Around 7 km from Chopta along the road Chopta-Gopeshwar this sanctuary. The area is 5 km2. It covers an area. It is also known among many other animals for breeding musk deer. Even several rare flowers are in the sanctuary to give the eyes a treat.

 

The environment is exuberantly green and is beautiful throughout the year. Explore it through several activities, while also exploring the rare wildlife of the Himalayas as a natural lover.

5. Ukhimath

This little village of Ukhimath is well-known as “Kedarnath Winter Seat” and is about 28 km from Chopta. It is not only an excellent sightseeing location but also provides travelers with a chance to learn about their well-preserved culture. The Madhameshwar Mela and numerous old temples provide a more vibrant look at the colorful culture and vibration of this place, for example, through folklore, songs, and dances. The Pandava Dance festivities also feature the latest Mahabharat episodes.

 

6. Deori Tal

The Deoria Tal is the most attractive tourist attraction for its beautiful view, located 3 km from the Sari village on the Ukhimat-Chopta road. The cool, quiet, and dense forest surrounds it and appeals to everyone and everyone. The lake lies at the foot of the Chaukhamba silvery peaks and has a panorama of Neelkantha, Yellow Tooth, and Kedar peaks, which looks like glowing joys from Deoria valley to rejuvenate visitors. It is also a great place to look at birds. That’s why it can’t be missed by bird lovers.

 

The campsite is mostly preferred. But the walking distance from the village of Sari is about 2 km. It’s an unpaved rocky trail and in the monsoon or the winter, you have to take a guide. You can also find a spotted woman, or two deer who make your trip so much more magical if you are lucky!
