One of the most popular Telugu movies of 2022 was Karthikeya 2: Daivam Manushya Rupena. It is the follow-up to the popular Telugu action-adventure movie Karthikeya from 2014. The film was released on August 13 and starred Nikhil Siddhartha, Anupama Parameswaran, Adithya Menon, Harsha Chemudu, and Anupam Kher. In Karthikeya 2, Dr Karthikeya (Nikhil) must escape a web of deceit and conspiracies by retrieving a mythological artifact with the aid of an unlikely ally in order to clear his name of murder. The movie won praise from critics for its stunning visuals, compelling plot, and faithful retelling of Indian mythology. - Bangarraju
The supernatural action comedy Bangarraju, directed by Kalyan Krishna Kurasala and starring Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishna, Naga Chaitanya, and Krithi Shetty, was one of the year’s opening successes. Bangarraju is a follow-up to the acclaimed movie Soggade Chinni Nayana from 2016. In the movie, Nagarjuna and Ramya Krishna play a deceased couple who meet up again in heaven after passing away. But when they see that their grandson Chinna Bangarraju (Naga Chaitanya) has become lost in life, the couple decides to come back to earth. Bangarraju is a crowd-pleaser full of clever one-liners, brave action scenes, and classic charm.

The biographical action movie directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka is based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who died in the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks. Along with Prakash Raj, Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, Revathi, Murali Sharma, and Anish Kuruvilla, the main protagonist is played by Adivi Sesh, who also wrote the screenplay. Major describes Sandeep’s life and focuses on his valiant efforts to stop an attack by armed terrorists during “Operation Black Tornado” at Mumbai’s Taj Hotel. Adivi Sesh received praise for his work in the movie, and it quickly became a box-office success.
- HIT: The Second Case
Following the commercial success of 2020’s HIT: The First Case, this film is the second installment of Sailesh Kolanu’s HIT Verse. Adivi Sesh, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Rao Ramesh, Tanikella Bharani, Suhas, Posani Krishna Murali, and Komalee Prasad are among the cast members of the December 2 release HIT: The Second Case. HIT: The Second Case in Visakhapatnam follows Krishna Dev “KD” of the Andhra Pradesh CID. He looks into a grisly murder and quickly realizes it’s a case of serial killing.
